COLLECTING – COLLECTOR’S/LIMITED EDITIONS
Collecting can be seen as the next level of being interested in something. I am not going to give examples ,but there are collectors of anything you can image. So sometimes companies make items labeled as collector’s edition or limited. These are items that are produced in small numbers, including additional stuff relevant with the item or the company packed in a fancy alternative packages. The aim is to get the interest of the collectors and sell for expensive prices. To be honest, it works on me with video games.
It could also work with chocolates. No doubt there are already chocolates sold as limited, but I am also thinking about doing that.
ART NOUVEAU
Art Nouveau is the art trend between 1890s and 1910s. The style is famous for its curved, natural forms. They are applied to architecture and product design.
I’ve always fond of the examples of Art Nouveau, the work people put in it is very admiring. It gives me the feeling of being somewhere warm, safe and kind of mystic. These are good feelings and I will try to make people feel what I feel by applying it to chocolate.
ELECTRONIC MUSIC
Electronic music, particularly trance genre, consists of layers of sounds. I am not familiar with technical terms, but we can say there are beats, rhythms, synths and bass. These are heard in different timestamps and uplift and complete each other. Every sound makes one feel strong emotions.
Food can achieve the same thing, makes us feel different with each bite. Adding ‘layers’ to food can be in the form of taste, texture or a different plate.
Role Play
Role playing is an entertainment activity with a wide community. People take on roles and behave accordingly. ‘Being something you are not’ is where it made me think about what if food role plays other food.
We are so used to the appearance, smell and texture of the food, we can figure out what we are eating instantly. What if food looks, smells and feels like other food, confuse and surprise us.
