There are many manufacturers of chocolate, and yet lots of chocolate types. You can find whatever ingredient you like, whatever shape you want.

However we, humankind can be selective most of the time like about cars, houses etc.

Here is the thing I wonder about; 

While there are many types of chocolate, how do we choose through them?

To find out, I made an experiment about people and their chocolate choices.

First, I bought 16 pieces chocolate with 9 different kind of ingredients and look. I had to get two pieces of some, because there’s always a chance for same chocolate to be chosen for more than one person.

Also, I didn’t asked their ingredients so I wouldn’t be able to tell what do they contain. It was going to be surprise for all of us.

Then I thought about people who I can do this experiment on. I needed at least 10 people to make this work good; My family was a fit for this experiment. -Every weekend, we all gather up as a whole.-

I show them off every chocolate first, made them choose the chocolate they’d like to eat.

  • My mother and cousin choose the No.1, because it had bitter chocolate in it and they love it. Also, they like its shape because it reminded her an umbrella. They also loved its insides filled with bitter chocolate.
  • My sister choose the No.2 and my ant choose the No.5, because they find the treble clef on it very cute. Even though they liked its look, they absoultely hated its taste. It had coconut in it and if you ask me, it was not that bad. -I finished what she started :)-
  • My grandmother choose the No.7 because she is not a fan of chocolate actually. Even though, if she is going to eat one, she prefers white chocolate to eat since it doesnt contain cacao actually.
  • My other aunt choose the No.8 because she liked its look, the pearl like nut on it.
  • My dad prefered No.9 because he liked its pattern. I guess it’s because of his job; he makes fabric printing and he is involved in patterns a lot.
  • My grandfather choose No.6 because… Well, he said he choose it because he is going to eat it, because of it is a chocolate and it is supposed to be eaten so look doesnt matter for him.
  • Two friends of mine choose No.4 because of its shape and their liking of Ferrero Roche.
  • I choose the No.1 because it has a shiny and different look. It tasted so great that my friends regret that they didnt choose this one.

As result; I found out people’s interest or interestliness, wonderings, likings and observed that even daily lives of people may affect the choice.
