Create your own narrative around chocolate. Compose your context bearing in mind notions like taste, culture, history, rituals, gestures, habits, emotions. Base your concepts on existing issues that you observed or suggest new scenarios which does not yet exist. Your design should be the product of the world that you have build/make up.

In ‘chasing chocolate in the city’ exercise you have already started a search for narratives. You can choose to pursue the concept(s) that you generated during this exercise or gather other inspirational material for a new story.

You have also practiced to examine the inside-outside relationship of objects in the ‘shell’ exercise. Keep in mind that your final concept will also have several layers and these layers should have an interaction bearing functions and clues in relation to each other while all reflecting the same common narrative.

Don’t forget that in your final design proposal chocolate will be consumed one way or another which makes your analysis and decisions about future exercises on ingredients, form and texture a fundamental part of your project.

You will present your ideas and design to your client Vakko Chocolate so it is crucial that you describe how your concept will enhance their existing product range. You should portray how your narrative will become a part of the Vakko Chocolate brand and what forms it can take.

Your concept must have a visual identity of its own. Parallel to designing the form and the experience of your chocolate you should be working on the graphic identity including logo, fonts, colors, textures and packaging layouts.
